100xp Character Backstories
Ok adventurer rookies. Post your backstories here and I will hand out experience points. Nothing too long, your character may die soon anyway......;)
"--and then the Great Wallace said 'Roll four 6-sided dice to determine your ability score!'" Amen. I am Solaire. Servant of our Creator Wallace, part time priest, and as of recent events, full time healer to my unfortunate allies' wounds. I come from a small village, although memories of it are scarce. My parents, for reasons I've yet to discovered, dropped me off at the Church of Wallace a few days out from home when I was but a small boy. They sent me off with a "Be a good boy" and "goodbye". I've never seen them since. But that's not to say their choice was a mistake, oh no not at all! This church I've spent my life in has been extremely kind to me. Prayers in the morning, 3 meals a day, and the guidance of Wallace were all I needed to be happy. Skip forward to adult-hood. My devotion to our great god never faltered, and the high-priest declared that my dedication was indeed great, but that I needed to spread my wings. I was sent, not with directions, but a mission: "Spread the Words of Wallace, and show kindness to those who need it." I left the next day with my suit of armor, my high-priests mace, and The Holy Manual. I know not what will I face, but my goal is clear. *Insert Paladin tie in here*
A gnome that is a distant cousin of Seebo, named Monzaemon. Stayed in his home village for 100 years enjoying life. But he also found a big interest in tricking people. For his 100th birthday, there was a surprise visit by some of his family (including Seebo). His family was born adventurers, it was in his blood, and the reason they visited Monzaemon was not only for his birthday, but to bring him out on an adventure. He finally agreed but he had no adventuring skill, and on their wild encounters with monsters he was merely useless. Every night on their adventure though, Seebo would teach Monzaemon some magic, and combined with his major interest in tricking and fooling people, he slowly started becoming a respected illusionist. Though, the biggest day on the family's adventure was fighting the golems of the jungle. The fight was going well, but Monzaemon wanted to try one of his new spells he had not mastered on the golems. He ended up failing using the spell and actually made the golems stronger, and they killed his entire family. As Monzaemon ran away from them, the golems also ran away thinking they were all dead. Monzaemon may have thought he was the only survivor, but Seebo just suffered a concussion, and had amnesia. So up to this day, Seebo remains oblivious to his family's death (since Monzaemon is too afraid to tell him), and it explains why he is so friendly to everyone. And they traveled together and eventually met a lonesome elf ranger, and they were a group of 3.
If anybody told me that I would be buying a couple a dwarfs rounds of beer last last month I would had laughed and gave them a silver coin. But this journal is meant to record my journeys oh but where should I begin... oh of course my birth, being such a big day in my life if I say so myself, but who would care about that lets me skip to the fun parts. Like how I learned I could fire missiles with a twist of my wrist, that I could make people who I never even meet before become my new friends. But off course I could sit hear all night and write every single detail of my boring life but this is meant to help keep me sane.....since my village was over run by more insects that elves. It was a quit night accept for the faint howls of timber wolves, I was trying to convince my parents into allowing me to leave my village for the first time in my life, so I could join a tournament in a far away keep. But off course I knew there answer before I even asked "no" I could complain but I know that they just want to keep me safe. But as soon as I asked them the question or window was broken by billions of spiders trying to go through the windows my dad had told me once when he got back from his hunting trip that a swarm of spiders would surround box in its prey so the real hunter could capture or kill them. My dad new what was coming next but before he could reach for his satchel our roof broke and a spider bigger than my dog fell on or kitchen table .Before I could react I was pushed into my room before my dad and ma where taking from me the last words I could make coming from his direction where "Go!!!!! into my hut" Then for the final time in a long time I saw my dad blink four times.Since I was a young boy my dad told me that when I saw him blink four times it would mean that he loves me... I ran as far as I could before running into my father hut. This was the first time I have ever been inside the hut. I was in shock so who ever r=is reading this I hope respects what U did next. I crabbed everything I could carry and ran to the nearest road away from my home. The only thing that stopped me from breaking down was my mom last words "you can go". Now it been a month since that accident I found a book inside my father hut that tell me the stories off when HE used to be a adventure. There is also a letter that has my name, I am afraid to read it but I know I will have to read sooner or later. I will try to keep my past a secret to honor my villige wish to stay hidden. Nut I wonder I should tell my new friends about my past....
my name is sky blue when i was young my dad thought me how to be a blacksmith. I had an older brother but he died from an invasion. all he wanted to be was a warrior but mom and dad would not let him. When i was 10 i started to smith weapons and armor. Little did i know i was actually going to be using them. I got drafted into a guild called the SkyLords. Their main base is in my home town SkyLot. my parents decided to name me after the town and their favorite color. The town was getting very poor and weak since the Fire Nation attacked. I heard of untold riches it a place not so far away but it was a dangerous journey. I met a young theif along the way and ended up finding more people. when we finally got to the town we had six of us i looked like the only person well equipped.
The last week has been very exciting for me. I've fought bandits, goblins, even an ogre. But after each day passes the dangers seem to grow more dire. I'm not a very sturdy man, especially considering my occupation as a mage and an odd jobber. Thus I have decided to turn my blood to ink, and my flesh to paper, and in that way live even if my body should die.
My father was a kind man, strict sometimes, but he always had his reasons. He and I lived in a cabin in the woods, doing everyday things. Sometimes he would teach me the most interesting things, about life, about people, and about how to live. But one of my favorite topics was magic. Luckily, my dad also liked to topic, and had an extensive library to help cover it. On the occational days when dad had to go somewhere he would always tell me not to go too far from the house. On days like that I would either go fishing or go exploring the near by woods. Then one day everything changed. I had gone a bit farther into the woods than I usually went and got lost. It was growing dark and cold, then I saw a warm glow in the distance. I walked towards it to find my house wrapped in orange flames, and my father in chains being dragged away by seven or so men in noisy armor. As soon as he saw me he yelled at me to run, but I was too slow, in a daze I was as I watched my home turn to ashe and my father carried away by strangers. One armored man grabbed me, the cold metal dug into my skin. My father begged the man to leave me alone, to let me go, he begged, he said he wouldn't resist, that he would offer his own life in exchange. The armored man smirked, took out a knife, held it in front of me, then a flash of pain bursted in my left shoulder. The cut was deep, almost to the bone. It hurt so much I could barely breath. I heard a yell, but it wasn't mine or any of the men. It came from my father. Rage filled his face. He push off his assaulter and dove towards the flames. I shouted at him, thinking he might have been trying to end his own life, but I was wrong. The flame didn't eat him, they enveloped him like a cloak, swirled arround him, and what emerged was an enormous white dragon. None of the men escaped. I watch in petrified horror as they were torn apart, tossed around, burnt to a crisp. Their screams still haunt me in some of my dreams. Then the dragon looked at me. It brought its giant maw close to me, and blue flames towards my arm. I expected it to burn but instead the pain eased out of my arm, and as the flames withdrew I saw that all that was left of the cut was a patch of slightly lighter colored skin in a cresent shape. I looked with surprize into the dragons eyes, no, my fathers eyes. I knodded with understanding and stood up. A deep voice resonated in my head "Are you afraid" I replied "I am not but...what about you? I mean...What are you?" "Society fears creatures like me, that's why I changed myself into a human many years ago... and eventually became your father" "Are you my real father?" "You will learn with time" "I...I don't understand...what happens now?" "I hoped for abit more time here, but It looks like my time here is up, I need to finish something I started a long time ago...any last questions? This is a great chance, I'll answer you anything" I thought for a while, I thought on the many lessons I've been though, what I've learned and what I've yet to learn and finally answered "No father" he replied "So be it" and launched into the sky. I heard a klinking noise. Where he had been there was now instead a backpack filled with money, supplies and one last note.
"You've grown into a fine young man. I'll always watch over you, but try to find your own way of life without my help. Live true to yourself, strong and proud. And remember, There is nothing in this world that I am more proud of than you, my son."
But, I could probably even add more, I wanted to talk about a bit of life after that, and about having trouble with switching between the dimensions (the rpg groups), but it was already kind of too long, oh well
"--and then the Great Wallace said 'Roll four 6-sided dice to determine your ability score!'"
